Preview of the Stadtwerke München Case Study

With RunMyJobs, German Utility SWM Automates Mass Activities & Delivers Better Customer Service

Stadtwerke München (SWM), one of Germany’s largest municipal utilities providing energy, water, mobility and telecom services, faced rapidly growing volumes of customer and metering data and an expanding services portfolio that exceeded the capabilities of their existing automation. With a sophisticated SAP IS‑U environment, SWM needed a solution that could reliably run mass, multi‑step meter‑to‑cash processes, ensure correct sequencing and error handling, and integrate diverse enterprise applications and data sources.

SWM implemented Redwood RunMyJobs to orchestrate SAP IS‑U mass activities and nightly data loads into SAP HANA, adding automated recovery routines and flexible scheduling. The solution fully automated meter‑to‑cash and other mass activities, consolidated daily customer data for the service center (enabling the “Next Best Activity” initiative), reduced manual effort, provided self‑recovery and reliable sequencing, and ultimately improved data quality and customer service.
