SaskPower, a Canadian power generation, transmission and distribution utility, was struggling with slow, error-prone SAP system copies and refreshes. The manual process tied up at least three BASIS resources, took five days or more per refresh, left target systems unavailable for over a week, and often introduced errors that only surfaced days or weeks later—forcing extra troubleshooting and limiting how often Sandbox, QA and Pre‑Production environments could be refreshed.

SaskPower implemented Redwood’s combined service, tools and training in under six weeks to automate the system-copy process. Automation eliminated manual steps, enabled parallel refreshes by a single administrator, reduced refresh time to under three days (often less than two business days), cut target-system downtime to about two days, reduced the landscape from seven to six tiers, and made multiple sandbox and production copies affordable—saving time, lowering costs and increasing refresh frequency.
