Case Study: Whitbread achieves a seamless, five‑month migration to a single scheduler with Redwood Software's RunMyJobs

A Redwood Software Case Study

Preview of the Whitbread Case Study

The challenges of moving from legacy schedulers and WLA tools (and how to overcome them)

Whitbread, the UK’s largest operator of hotels, restaurants and coffee shops with over 50,000 employees, faced a risky legacy automation environment: a mix of old schedulers, ad-hoc scripts and complex dependencies supporting 1.3 million business‑critical file transfers each month across more than 800 servers. Concerns about data integrity, downtime and security made a full migration daunting.

Whitbread used Redwood’s RunMyJobs and a four‑step migration process (automatically converting ~90% of tasks) to phase out RemoteWare and AutoSys. In under five months they completed 11 phased migrations, migrated and tested thousands of jobs, and have since run nearly three million jobs without issue—consolidating to a single, reliable scheduling solution and turning a risky project into an operational improvement.
