Case Study: Whitbread achieves scalable, streamlined automation with Redwood Software RunMyJobs

How Whitbread achieved automation success

Whitbread, a multinational operator of over 800 hotels and restaurants with more than 50,000 employees, faced a complex, decades-old automation landscape built on multiple legacy tools. Critical daily processes — stock ordering, financial transactions, HR and logistics — depended on inflexible schedulers (SAP RemoteWare and CA Workload Automation/AutoSys), so the challenge was to replace them with a single, scalable solution without causing downtime or disruption.

Whitbread migrated to Redwood RunMyJobs in an 11‑phase program, moving 1,900 scheduled jobs in five months and now automating 1.3 million file transfers across 800 servers per month. Further rationalization reduced 8,000 jobs to about 100, and a visual interface greatly improved process documentation, visibility and coordination — freeing teams from repetitive tasks and improving operational efficiency.
