Whitbread, a UK hospitality leader with over 50,000 employees operating 785 hotels, 400 restaurants and 2,000 coffee shops, needed to replace an aging, inflexible automation stack (SAP RemoteWare and CA AutoSys) that was nearing end-of-life. The technical team required a single, enterprise-class solution that could be rolled out in phases without disrupting core stock ordering, HR, finance and logistics processes across a complex environment of more than 800 servers.
Whitbread selected Redwood’s cloud-based IT and business process automation and completed a rapid five-month switchover with zero service disruption. The team migrated 1,900 scheduled jobs early in the project, completed 11 phased migrations, and has since executed nearly three million jobs without issues; AutoSys jobs were reduced from 1,200 to about 100 and thousands of processes were consolidated. The solution integrated with ServiceNow, provided visual process documentation and enterprise-wide visibility, enabling better outsourcing management, cost reduction and ongoing process improvements.
