Jumbo, the Netherlands’ second-largest supermarket chain with over 700 locations and roughly 100,000 employees, faced the challenge of integrating several acquired brands while ensuring long-term profitability. The retailer needed to centralize back-office functions—especially finance, IT and HR—eliminate redundancies and boost productivity as it consolidated operations and reduced headcount.
