Searchturbo launches Chromium-based Android browser with Redwerk and reaches 500K+ installs

Searchturbo came to Redwerk with the idea for an advanced mobile browser and tasked them with creating an Android application. The challenge was to build a fast, Chromium-based browser tailored for Android with a unique bottom-mounted search bar, gesture controls, and features for comfortable and sharing-oriented mobile surfing.

Redwerk's solution involved optimizing the massive Chromium codebase for faster compilation and developing a custom git-flow. They implemented the bottom Omnibox with voice commands and auto-fill, a data-compression mode, and a main screen with multiple accessible tabs. The resulting Start Internet Browser was released in 2016 and achieved over 500,000 installs on Google Play, receiving numerous positive reviews for its performance and user experience.
