Case Study: Gigmit enriches its music bookings database with Redwerk’s ethical data scraping solution

A Redwerk Case Study

Preview of the Gigmit Case Study

Gigmit expands to 225,000 users with Redwerk

gigmit, a platform for live music bookings, needed to continuously harvest publicly available event data to provide its users with up-to-date opportunities. They faced limitations with their existing web scraping tool and turned to Redwerk for help in ethically collecting this data from select web resources without getting blocked and under time constraints.

Redwerk implemented a solution using Django REST to build data models and created asynchronous task queues with Celery and RabbitMQ to manage server load. They leveraged Hunter.io to find contact information. As a result, gigmit's database was significantly increased and enriched with well-structured data, leading to 500% more gig opportunities for their 225,000+ registered users and supporting the platform's expansion into the USA.
