DotGov, Inc launches YouTown in 3 months with Redwerk

DotGov, Inc, a Gov 2.0 startup, needed to develop a mobile application that could aggregate and display real-time data from various civic government sources. They hired the software development vendor Redwerk to design the initial architecture and build a robust backend capable of processing this information into a streamlined and intuitive app for citizens.

Redwerk developed the YouTown mobile app and its backend, which crawls multiple government websites to aggregate data and reduce feed update latency to one minute. The first fully functional beta versions were delivered in just three months, and the product was later adopted by cities in the U.S. and the Netherlands before being successfully acquired. The project resulted in an application recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change.
