The Barnstable Police Department, which supports over 130 staff and serves tens of thousands of residents and seasonal visitors, was facing capacity shortages, slow application performance, VDI boot times up to 3 minutes, and recovery from malware/ransomware that could take days. After evaluating options, the department selected Reduxio and its HX550 storage system (with BackDating) to address performance, capacity and rapid recovery needs.

Reduxio deployed the HX550 as the primary storage, migrating hundreds of virtual servers and desktops and enabling BackDating point-in-time recovery. As a result, VDI boot times improved from 3 minutes to 20 seconds (9× faster), average application latency dropped to under 1 ms, and ransomware recovery can be completed in minutes (about 5 minutes), delivering immediate end-user responsiveness and much faster, low-risk recovery.
