La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology (LJI), a biomedical research institute supporting 400 researchers and more than a petabyte of ever-growing bioinformatics data, faced rising capacity needs, tight budgets, high performance requirements for next‑generation sequencing workloads, and inadequate data protection.
