GORDON COLLEGE, a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Wenham, MA, was struggling with high SAN latency that degraded SQL Server and VM performance, blocked new projects (including a VDI-backed “Gordon 360” portal) and limited snapshot-based ransomware protection. After evaluating options, System Manager Eric Reinhold chose Reduxio and its HX550 enterprise flash storage to tackle both performance and recovery shortcomings.

Reduxio deployed two HX550 systems to replace the old FC SANs and migrated the Hyper-V clusters, accelerating some 170 Windows Server VMs and enabling greater application consolidation (VDI pools, Jenzabar SIS, Exchange, etc.). The result: up to 12× more IOPS, 20× lower SQL latency, more than 4× throughput versus the previous SAN, and instant point-in-time recovery (recover to any second within defined windows), letting Gordon College run more services with improved performance and stronger data protection.
