Zafin streamlines operations and shortens time to value for world-leading banks

Zafin, a SaaS platform that helps world-leading banks modernize core systems, was running its event streaming workloads on Kafka/Confluent and struggling with heavy maintenance, frequent outages, and complex operations. To support real-time banking data at scale, the company needed a simpler, high-throughput streaming architecture that would be easier to manage and more reliable.

Zafin replaced its Kafka implementation with Redpanda Data’s self-managed enterprise platform, using it with integrations such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Apache Flink, and Apache NiFi. The migration required zero code changes and preserved full Kafka compatibility, while simplifying day 2 operations, lowering compute costs, and speeding time to value. Zafin now processes more than 300 million daily events and plans to replace five brokers and five ZooKeepers per client with just three Redpanda brokers.
