A Redpanda Data Case Study

How Seventh Sense evolved its event capture and storage system to a streaming data system with Redpanda

The Seventh Sense, a predictive analytics platform for email marketers, needed to scale its event capture and storage system as it grew from handling hundreds of thousands of records to hundreds of millions. To support its real-time, event-driven architecture, the company looked for a streaming-first model that could replace custom storage and database locking approaches and better handle large volumes of engagement data.

Redpanda Data provided the streaming data platform Seventh Sense adopted, using Redpanda as the system of record with Kafka-compatible APIs, a schema registry, and simple local and cloud deployment. The result was faster development and testing, less operational overhead, and significantly better performance—Seventh Sense reported benchmark results showing Redpanda outperforming Kafka by orders of magnitude with its Databricks Spark cluster, while also enabling a high-speed write buffer that improved query-system performance and cost efficiency.
