Docent Health partnered with New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) to enhance the patient experience and better understand the full care journey beyond what the electronic health record captures. HSS needed a way to quickly integrate Docent’s patient-experience platform with its Epic EHR so care teams could personalize interactions around each patient’s expectations, concerns, and social factors.

Using Redox, Docent Health integrated its application with HSS’s Epic EHR through a simple API and JSON-based exchange, avoiding a months-long custom build. Redox cut the integration timeline from months to weeks, helped HSS and Docent move data more easily, and enabled HSS Ambassadors to deliver more personalized care to thousands of patients while freeing IT and development teams to focus on other priorities.
