PointClickCare saves up to 60 minutes per patient record with Redox

PointClickCare, a leading cloud-based healthcare software platform, faced significant interoperability challenges in Ontario's healthcare system. Their providers struggled with seamless data exchange between hospitals and long-term care homes, as information was often shared via fax, leading to delays, potential medication errors, and missing patient data during care transitions. To address this, PointClickCare partnered with Redox to support Project AMPLIFI, an initiative aimed at creating a province-wide clinical data exchange.

Using the Redox integration platform, the solution enabled bi-directional, digital sharing of critical patient information like Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) data and Clinical Care Documents (CCD). This resulted in the integration of 67 hospitals with 452 long-term care homes. Redox helped facilitate over 36,000 patient transfers, saving clinicians up to 60 minutes per patient record and leading to overwhelmingly positive feedback on improved information sharing and patient safety. The project also established new health information exchanges, enabling data sharing between different hospital systems for the first time.
