Redis Enterprise Powers International Expansion of Wizz, the Friend-Finding App

Voodoo’s social discovery app, Wizz, needed a resilient, low-latency database to handle peak traffic of 88,000 queries per second and support explosive growth from tens of thousands to millions of daily sessions. The team also needed a solution that was easy for a small engineering staff to deploy and manage as the app expanded internationally. Redis Enterprise on Google Cloud was selected to provide the high-throughput infrastructure Wizz required.

Redis implemented core features such as micro caching, sharding, leaderboards, rate limiting, and Pub/Sub to power real-time chat, session management, matchmaking, and global messaging. With Redis Enterprise, Wizz improved performance, uptime, and reliability while scaling smoothly across regions, supporting millions of sessions per day and helping prevent downtime and database corruption during spikes and attacks.
