A Redis Case Study
Mutualink provides secure, interoperable communications for emergency management, first responders, schools and private security. As it redesigned its real‑time emergency interoperability network to support hundreds to millions of concurrent users, the company faced a core challenge: build a microservices‑friendly, highly distributed system that delivers sub‑millisecond consistency and seamless failover across geographic data centers so callers and mobile users never lose sessions or encounter data conflicts during emergencies.
Mutualink adopted Redis Enterprise for its CRDT‑based active‑active replication and microservices-friendly architecture, using it as the real‑time “edge” junction to store the network directory, manage active conversations and synchronize multimedia events and search. The solution enabled conflict‑free, low‑latency data consolidation across sites, reduced development and debugging by the equivalent of dozens of staff‑years, and positioned Mutualink to support an initial 100,000 concurrent users with a clear path to scale to millions.
