Case Study: France Travail achieves faster, more cost-efficient unemployment services with Redis

A Redis Case Study

Preview of the France Travail Case Study

France Travail boosts efficiency in unemployment services and cuts costs on cloud-native databases

France Travail, the French employment agency, was struggling with a complex and costly legacy IT environment that was hard to scale and slowed key services like job listings, benefits management, and document processing. To support millions of citizens more efficiently, France Travail turned to Redis to simplify its infrastructure, improve performance, and reduce the long onboarding time for new developers.

Using Redis across its PaaS and KaaS environments, France Travail consolidated multiple siloed systems into one platform and deployed more than 50 use cases, including Active-Active for benefits processing and Redis Streams for document workflows. The impact was significant: developer onboarding fell from 6–9 months to one week, read speeds doubled, write speeds increased fourfold, e-signatures dropped from 5 minutes to 5 seconds, PDF generation fell from 30 minutes to 1 second, and overall operating costs were reduced to one-third.
