A Redis Case Study
Fortifi is a cloud-based, end-to-end business platform (billing, CRM, support, order management, marketing) that plugs into websites to give a unified view of operations. As its application and user base grew, Fortifi ran into reliability problems running open-source Redis in a GKE cluster—occasional failovers and node sync loss—and needed a cost-effective, high-availability solution to preserve customer experience.
Fortifi adopted Redis Enterprise as the primary database for its customer-facing app, using it for user session storage and job/queue management (dataset <1 GB). The move delivered markedly better performance, stability, auto-failover and seamless scaling (including resizing without downtime), improved monitoring, and faster time-to-market, with reduced downtime and less need for specialized personnel; the team continues to shift additional data into Redis Enterprise as features evolve.
