Steel Manufacturing Plant eliminates server sprawl and boosts availability with Redington's virtualized refresh

A steel manufacturing plant required a tech refresh for its aging legacy infrastructure, which consisted of Compaq AlphaServer systems with no available spare servers. The challenge was to find a cost-effective solution that would create a new virtualized environment matching the existing compatibility. The vendor, Redington, implemented this update.

Redington replaced the existing physical environment with a Suse Linux virtualized environment running on cost-effective HPE DL 180 Servers. This solution eliminated server sprawl and complexity, achieving higher IT efficiencies with reduced operating costs and faster workload deployment. The results included higher server availability, increased application performance, and a seamless, timely, and uninterrupted tech refresh for the customer.
