Case Study: Medrona improves application performance and scalability with Redington's AWS Windows EC2 migration

A Redington Case Study

Preview of the Medrona Case Study

Medrona boosts performance and supports 250-300 users with Redington on AWS

Medrona, a company running a Windows Server and SQL Server application on a single on-premises server, faced significant performance and throughput issues due to its single-tier architecture. They engaged Redington to migrate their workloads to AWS, seeking a scalable and secure solution that could also host their Active Directory and establish multiple site-to-site VPN connections.

Redington implemented a solution using Amazon EC2 instances for Windows Server and SQL Server, along with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS). They deployed a new three-tier architecture on AWS, which resolved the performance issues. The migration provided Medrona with a more secure and scalable environment, ease of deployment through pre-licensed AMIs, and the ability to natively run Active Directory in the cloud. Redington's approach successfully modernized the customer's infrastructure.
