West Berkshire Council - Customer Case Study

West Berkshire Council, which serves over 1,800 staff and around 155,000 residents across half of Berkshire, needed to upgrade its main data centre without compromising performance, budget, or reliability. As part of a £200K refresh and 18-month infrastructure project, the council turned to Redcentric to address rising bandwidth demands and replace its switching provision with a solution that would fit its existing footprint and support a seamless weekend cutover.

Redcentric recommended and delivered a 10Gb top-of-rack switch-based solution using Brocade, backed by proof-of-concept testing and close collaboration with Brocade engineers. The result was a successful go-live with no surprises, improved bandwidth capacity and performance, stronger resilience and continuity of service, and a future-ready design that met the council’s best-value requirements.
