Herts Urgent Care - Customer Case Study

Herts Urgent Care (HUC), a social enterprise delivering NHS primary and urgent care services to more than 4.5 million patients, needed a strategic partner to help align its network with NHS England’s “Internet First” direction, improve resilience and performance, and consolidate networks after acquiring Devon Doctors. HUC turned to Redcentric for support with its connectivity and wider network strategy, including a move toward SD-WAN and better future scalability.

Redcentric implemented Fortinet firewalls, switches and access points, placing two HA firewall pairs in Redcentric’s London data centre and removing a single point of failure. The result was six-nines availability, significantly higher throughput, and much faster, more reliable access for staff and clinicians. Redcentric also helped HUC streamline network management, improve security, and support a flexible, future-ready network that enhances patient care.
