East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) needed to replace a highly complex legacy IT setup after the merger of Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, where separate networks, data centres, security policies and internet providers created inconsistent user experiences across 22 sites. The trust also needed secure, reliable access to patient data and infrastructure that could support a new enterprise patient record (EPR) system. Redcentric, using Fortinet SD-WAN, was brought in to help modernise the network.

Redcentric designed and delivered a co-managed SD-WAN with centralized security, traffic prioritization, and a single management console, plus secure hosting and resilient connectivity for ESNEFT’s EPR estate. The result was a more agile, scalable and secure environment with improved performance, easier management, faster issue resolution and lower operational overheads.
