Cumberland Building Society, a top 10 UK building society with branches across Cumbria and southwest Scotland, needed to upgrade its ageing WAN at the end of its existing contract. It was looking for a solution that could deliver lower costs, better bandwidth, strong technical support, and future-proofing for changes such as BT 21CN, and chose Redcentric, building on its existing use of Redcentric managed backup services.

Redcentric implemented Managed Network Services covering an MPLS-based WAN for 35 branches and head office, plus high-speed internet and ADSL connectivity, with ongoing backup support. The result was improved bandwidth, proactive monitoring and support, constant connectivity, and cost savings over the previous network, while freeing Cumberland Building Society’s IT team to focus on front-end operations and helping ensure better customer service.
