Channel 4, the UK public service broadcaster behind the All 4 VOD platform, needed to scale its cloud services efficiently as its audience grew to 22 million viewers while improving performance, reducing costs, and maintaining a consistent experience across devices. Redcentric had been supporting Channel 4’s video-on-demand service since 2006 and was tasked with helping migrate a key orchestration system and database from a managed private cloud to AWS.

Redcentric implemented a phased migration to Amazon RDS for Oracle, including environment sizing, automated database refreshes, enhanced monitoring, and improved deployment and availability management. The result was a low-risk, on-time production migration with minimal disruption, better scalability, automated patching and backup/recovery, and measurable cost and workload efficiency gains for Channel 4 and Redcentric.
