A Red Points Case Study

Preview of the Stäubli Case Study

Making solar power plants safer through trademark protection

Stäubli, the Swiss family-owned specialist in electrical connectors best known for its "Original MC4" PV connector, faced widespread counterfeiting that confused resellers and created dangerous photovoltaic installations. To protect the MC4 trademark and safeguard customers, Stäubli partnered with Red Points and adopted Red Points' brand-protection platform.

Using Red Points' user-friendly platform and marketplace relationships, Stäubli identified and removed 14,000 fake listings in seven months, with 209K total units enforced and an 89% enforcement success rate, restoring customer trust and raising safety standards in the PV industry. Red Points’ actions also exposed unwitting distributors selling counterfeits, leading them to replace fake stock with authentic MC4 parts and further improve system safety.
