MVMT Watches Inc, a direct-to-consumer watch brand founded in 2013, faced rampant counterfeiting that eroded revenue and brand equity. To address this, MVMT partnered with Red Points and deployed Red Points' self-learning anti-counterfeit platform and web portal to automatically detect and manage online infringements.
Red Points crawled 80 marketplace sites and, in just over six months, discovered and removed more than 25,000 counterfeit listings, shut down 7 of 11 fake MVMT sites (with the remainder under legal threat), and enabled hundreds of takedowns within 24 hours—replacing MVMT’s slow manual process of roughly 1,000 removals per year. The Red Points solution saved MVMT time and money and freed the team to focus on growing the brand instead of policing fakes.
