Case Study: Merck achieves global EHS compliance and centralized oversight with Red-On-Line

A Red-On-Line Case Study

Preview of the Merck Case Study

Implementing a Global EHS Compliance Culture for Merck

Merck, a global science and technology company with 18 manufacturing sites and 58,000 employees, faced fragmented EHS compliance management in 2015—sites relied on Excel, had no centralized legal register, and lacked visibility across countries. To fix this, Merck selected Red-On-Line’s SaaS HSE compliance management solution to provide a single, centralized platform for legal registers, compliance checks and audits across its sites.

Red-On-Line implemented a three‑phase program (legal register, legal compliance checks, optional audits) and delivered localized expertise, regulatory alerts, quarterly legislative updates and a 24/7 customizable dashboard, giving Merck a global overview across 18 sites in 11 countries. The Red-On-Line solution integrated Merck’s EHS standards, supported ISO requirements, reduced the need for multiple local tools and onsite resources, improved audit readiness and was adopted by other Merck divisions, delivering clearer compliance statistics and faster corrective-action tracking.
