Zürcher Kantonalbank Strategically Utilizes Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Zürcher Kantonalbank, a Swiss financial services provider, needed a more cost-effective and manageable alternative to its growing UNIX-based infrastructure for smaller systems and applications. The bank turned to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, along with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Consulting, to build a new x86 platform and better support test and production operations.

Red Hat implemented a standardized Linux environment with automated provisioning, patching, and system management across hundreds of virtual and physical servers. The result was lower implementation, configuration, and management costs, improved efficiency, and stronger IT security, with the bank reporting that Red Hat’s consulting helped save significant time and money.
