UKCloud Supports Public Sector Cloud Innovation with Red Hat Openstack Platform

UKCloud, a specialist provider of assured cloud services for the UK public sector, needed a more flexible, secure, and standards-based infrastructure platform to support digital and cloud-native workloads without locking into a single vendor. Working with Red Hat, UKCloud used Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Ceph Storage, and Red Hat Technical Account Management to build a production-ready IaaS foundation.

Red Hat helped UKCloud deploy the platform quickly through workshops, a proof of concept, and hands-on guidance, enabling it to meet a critical G-Cloud deadline. The new platform delivered government-level security with SELinux, improved agility and scalability, and helped UKCloud speed up service delivery; the company also reported 96% business growth in 2015 and a 37% average G-Cloud IaaS market share in 2016.
