A Red Hat Case Study
TransUnion, a global risk and information solutions provider, needed to modernize its IT environment as part of Project Spark, moving off legacy mainframe systems to support faster innovation, better data integration, and lower costs. Working with Red Hat, TransUnion adopted an open source operating environment using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat Satellite, and related products.
Red Hat helped TransUnion migrate applications to commodity x86 servers, consolidate datacenters, and automate infrastructure management and provisioning. The results included reducing datacenters from 16 to 7, cutting hardware/software/support costs, improving disaster recovery and application availability, and tripling employee satisfaction; TransUnion also accelerated global deployment and gained a stronger competitive advantage through faster time to market.
