A Red Hat Case Study
The Emirates Group needed a way to replace costly proprietary systems with an enterprise-level service-oriented architecture that could support mission-critical travel applications, reduce complexity, and avoid vendor lock-in. To do this, the company worked with Red Hat using JBoss Enterprise Middleware, including JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform, JBoss Enterprise BRMS, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, JBoss Operations Network, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Red Hat helped The Emirates Group build and launch its Open Travel Platform, centralizing travel-related services on a single, secure, high-availability platform. The result was a more streamlined customer experience, lower IT development and maintenance costs, and an expected savings of millions of dollars with a two-year payback; the project also earned a 2011 JBoss Innovation Award for cutting costs.
