Switch Unifies Infrastructure with Cisco Flexpod and Red Hat

SWITCH, a Swiss IT provider for the education sector, was struggling with a complex, heterogeneous infrastructure that drove high administration and maintenance costs and made it harder to innovate. To simplify and standardize its environment, SWITCH turned to Red Hat and a preconfigured Cisco FlexPod solution using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and Red Hat Satellite.

Red Hat helped SWITCH build a consolidated, scalable, and highly available infrastructure that improved performance and reduced complexity. The project cut physical servers from 120 to 40 and delivered annual IT and FTE savings of up to 10%, while giving SWITCH a stronger platform for future services and expansion.
