Stylmark improves availability disaster recovery with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization

Stylmark, a provider of customized aluminum structures, lighting, graphic displays, and framing systems, needed to modernize its IT infrastructure after a server failure caused nearly a full day of downtime for its ERP system. Working with Red Hat and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, the company sought a more affordable way to virtualize about 12 servers, improve availability, and strengthen disaster recovery without straining its budget.

Red Hat implemented Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to fit into Stylmark’s existing hardware and storage environment, enabling live migration, failover, and centralized management. The result was faster performance, the ability to restore systems within an hour if a host failed, and a resilient disaster recovery setup with host replication to another location in downtown Minneapolis. Stylmark also reduced risk and gained agility for testing new applications, all while avoiding major hardware costs.
