Singapore Polytechnic Educates on Open Source with Red Hat Academy

Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore’s first polytechnic institute, wanted to strengthen its open source curriculum and help students build job-ready Linux and cloud skills amid a regional shortage of qualified IT professionals. To do this, it partnered with Red Hat and used Red Hat Academy, along with Red Hat System Administration courses and RHCSA/RHCE certification paths, to give students and faculty hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials.

Red Hat helped Singapore Polytechnic deliver flexible, web-based, task-focused learning with labs, support, and lecturer training, making the program practical and easy to integrate into existing courses. The result was stronger open source education for 15,900 students, better-prepared graduates for the high-demand IT market, and measurable value through globally recognized Red Hat certifications that improved students’ employability and the school’s reputation.
