Raiffeisenbank Speeds Data Warehouse Cuts Costs with Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Raiffeisen Bank International, through Raiffeisenbank in the Czech Republic, needed to modernize an aging UNIX-based data warehouse that was too slow to deliver reports and business data on time, including regulatory reporting. The bank turned to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Hitachi hardware after evaluating alternatives, looking for better performance, lower costs, and less vendor lock-in.

Red Hat implemented Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for Oracle Database, with support from MHM computer a.s. The new environment delivered average performance that was three times faster, with some batch jobs up to five times faster, and helped the bank expect a 50% reduction in total cost of ownership over five years. Raiffeisenbank also improved stability, simplified administration, and now meets regulatory deadlines on time.
