Pioneer Takes Car Navigation to the Cloud with Red Hat

Pioneer Corporation, a leader in car electronics, needed a way to move increasingly complex in-car route searches to the cloud because its existing navigation systems were reaching the limits of on-device processing. To build its Super Route Finder service, Pioneer chose Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to support a container-based approach that could handle growing traffic, more device models, and the need for always-on service.

Red Hat helped Pioneer deploy the solution on IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers, giving it a reliable, supported container platform with better flexibility and scalability. As a result, Pioneer improved IT performance and costs, launched the service in just five months, and created a foundation that can easily scale to more users and containers as demand grows.
