MLP, a German financial services and wealth management company, needed to replace the expiring IBM WebSphere application server supporting critical applications like Brokerpilot. The challenge was to move a very complex, heavily customized Java EE environment without disrupting operations, while also reducing costs and gaining more flexibility.

Red Hat helped MLP migrate Brokerpilot and other applications to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services supporting the planning and implementation. The result was a reliable new platform with more flexible functions, a simpler build process, and significantly lower costs thanks to no licensing fees; the six-month migration also enabled MLP to extend the same approach to additional applications.
