Case Study: Intermountain Healthcare achieves faster, lower-cost IT with Red Hat

A Red Hat Case Study

Intermountain Healthcare Supports No-Harm Care with Efficient I.T. from Red Hat

Intermountain Healthcare, a Salt Lake City-based not-for-profit health system, needed a more agile and cost-effective IT environment to support its zero-harm patient care mission. Its proprietary infrastructure made changes slow, provisioning cumbersome, and licensing expensive, prompting the organization to look for a more flexible solution from Red Hat, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat CloudForms, and Red Hat Virtualization.

Working with Red Hat Consulting, Intermountain migrated key workloads to Red Hat’s open source platform stack, added Red Hat Ansible Automation, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, and Red Hat Satellite, and moved to Intel-based hardware. Red Hat helped cut deployment time from 2-3 weeks to about four hours and VM provisioning from three days to 20 minutes, while also reducing IT costs and improving DevOps collaboration and automation.
