Healthesystems Modernizes Business Process and Rules Management with Red Hat

Healthesystems, a provider of workers’ compensation medical management solutions, needed to respond more quickly to changing state regulations and customer requirements while modernizing a complex, legacy compliance reporting system. Its rules were embedded in code, making updates slow and dependent on developers, so the company sought a more agile business rules management approach with Red Hat and its Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite.

With help from Open Source Architect, Healthesystems implemented Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite and Red Hat Training to separate business rules from code and give analysts more control through web-based decision tables. The Red Hat solution improved reporting reliability, speed, and manageability, cut reporting rule updates from weeks to under a week, reduced margins updates to about an hour, and sped batch processing to 10 minutes, while also improving team knowledge and supporting future modernization.
