A Red Hat Case Study
The State of Jalisco needed to modernize outdated, costly, and risk-prone IT systems to meet growing citizen demand for faster, more accessible digital public services. Working with Red Hat and products including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Virtualization, and Red Hat JBoss middleware, the state set out to standardize and automate its 15-year-old infrastructure while improving reliability and security.
Red Hat helped the State of Jalisco implement a modern open source platform with consulting and training support, enabling faster development and more scalable online services. The results included a 900% increase in citizens served daily, a 60% reduction in infrastructure operating costs, 100% reduction in hardware costs through server consolidation, and faster public notifications such as traffic infringement notices delivered in three days instead of 120.
