Finanz Informatik Streamlines Rules-Based Processes with Red Hat

Finanz Informatik, the central IT service provider for the German Savings Banks Finance Group, needed to replace rigid, embedded business rules that were costly to program and test and difficult to adapt for complex banking processes. Working with Red Hat, it evaluated several business rules management systems and chose Red Hat JBoss BRMS, with Red Hat Consulting helping guide the implementation.

Red Hat implemented a centralized, flexible rules-based management system in FI’s OSPlus-Kredit and OSPlus environments, allowing rules to be managed, tested, and updated more easily by authorized users. The result was simplified business rule management, easier integration of decision logic, reduced risk of user-related errors, and faster process execution for tens of thousands of bank employees across real estate financing and other loan processes.
