FI-TS Provides Sap in the Cloud Securely Thanks to Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization

Finanz Informatik Technologie Service (FI-TS) provides IT services for the financial and insurance industries and needed a way to deliver SAP applications more efficiently, securely, and at lower cost. As outsourcing demand and regulatory pressure grew, the company sought a scalable cloud environment to replace expensive, complex UNIX-based systems. FI-TS used Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP, and Red Hat Satellite to build its SAP cloud service.

Red Hat helped FI-TS implement a highly available, secure, and flexible SAP environment on standard x86 hardware and Cisco UCS infrastructure, with automation and easier resource provisioning. The result was faster deployment, stronger scalability, and lower operating costs; FI-TS says it can now provide test systems in hours instead of days and let customers add or release resources on demand, billed by actual use.
