European University Institute Migrates to Red Hat Solutions to Increase Reliability and Obtain Substantial Cost Savings

The European University Institute (EUI) needed to replace a legacy point-to-point integration architecture that could no longer support its growing ecosystem of professors, students, and visitors. Using Red Hat solutions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform, EUI sought to better manage heterogeneous user data, improve security, and avoid costly proprietary licensing.

Red Hat, working with partner Visionest, implemented a new service-oriented integration approach built on JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform and the a>PLUS BPM framework. The solution centralized master data management, streamlined provisioning and authorization, and improved administration and change management. As a result, EUI achieved simpler integration, more reliable and secure operations, and substantial savings in licensing and operating costs.
