Euronet Worldwide, through its subsidiary Euronet Services India Pvt. Limited, needed to consolidate hardware and build a platform that was flexible, secure, scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective. Working with Red Hat, the company moved its mission-critical Card Management application from Microsoft Windows to a virtualized environment using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Red Hat implemented the solution in phases, starting with the Card Management application on two server hosts running Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor. The result was a simpler, more agile infrastructure with improved server utilization, lower hardware and power costs, and reduced maintenance; performance was also 20–25% faster than on Windows, while transaction-processing rejection rates dropped from 11.7% to 2.3%.
