Duo Builds Devops Agility with Red Hat Jboss Enterprise Application Platform

Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO), part of the Dutch Ministry of Education, needed a more agile, cost-effective way to support DevOps and continuous delivery while meeting strict public-sector reliability requirements. Its existing IBM WebSphere environment relied on too many manual processes and was too expensive to scale, limiting its ability to provision new development and test environments quickly.

With help from Red Hat Consulting, DUO migrated to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) to standardize and automate application development and delivery. The new platform reduced provisioning time from six weeks to six minutes and is expected to save millions of euros in license costs over several years, while also improving collaboration and responsiveness across government departments.
