A Red Hat Case Study

Preview of the CRIS Case Study

CRIS Books More Happier Passengers with Infrastructure Powered by Red Hat

CRIS, the Centre for Railway Information Systems, needed a highly scalable, open-standards-based infrastructure to support nearly 2 million passengers a day and manage 25,000 concurrent users during peak train booking periods. The organization turned to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, and Red Hat Consulting to help power its mission-critical reservation and journey-planning systems.

Red Hat implemented Red Hat Enterprise Linux as the foundation for CRIS’s core infrastructure and helped develop the CRIS Journey Planner on open Java EE 6 standards. The result was a high-performing, reliable, and highly available system that supported 25,000 concurrent users, improved time to market, reduced vendor lock-in, and increased customer satisfaction with a more streamlined booking experience.
