Comifar Group Boosts Performance and Reliability with Red Hat

Comifar Group, Italy’s leading pharmaceutical distributor, needed to improve performance and reliability for its business-critical applications while handling about 1 million requests a day with minimal downtime. To address these demands, the company turned to Red Hat, using Red Hat Enterprise Linux along with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Training to modernize its aging SCO/Unix environment.

Red Hat helped Comifar Group migrate and consolidate its infrastructure onto x86 servers, reducing its footprint from 100 physical servers to 30 machines across two datacenters and adding disaster recovery capabilities. The results were significant: overall performance improved by at least 40%, planned downtime dropped from 5–10 minutes per day to just a few seconds, and unplanned downtime was virtually eliminated.
